Having bad breath is a problem faced by everyone. The smell that comes from the mouth can be so unpleasant that it is enough to turn people away.

Here are some measures to cure or lessen the incidence of bad breath:

  1. Proper oral hygiene. It is said that early morning brushing is for beauty and bed time brushing is for good health.
  2. Brushing techniques. The direction of brushing is important.The upper teeth should be brushed in a downward direction and the lower in upward direction.This is applicable to both inner and outer surfaces.Next comes the crown of the teeth;here brushing is done in anterior and posterior direction keeping the brush in same direction.This applicable to both upper and lower set of teeth.

  4. Tooth pick and floss. This is used to remove food particles lodged between the gaps.
  5. Gargling. Gargling with lukewarm water with salkt is effective in reducing bad breath.
  6. Food habits. Foods that contain protein help produce bad breath.
  7. Water Intake.Mouth dryness can be a favorable condition for bacteria. To prevent this regular water intake is recommended to help in the production of saliva in the mouth.
  8. Mouth fresheners. Mouth fresheners made from bith natural and artificial ingredients can really help reduce bad breath. Spicy herbs and citrus fruits are commonly used and are made into chewing gum or candies and sold in the market.
